  1. As I reflect back on relationships with friends and family over the years I see many that have been manipulative with their gestures of gratitude. Some I had realized, others not. The ones that had really stuck out to me I would red flag and usually keep at a distance. I never really realized why a person would go on and on, thanking me a thousand times. I always assumed it was because either 1. They were immensely grateful. Or 2. They were trying to manipulate me into saying ” your welcome, anytime”. Usually it would be in the case of them receiving a gift of art work or something I had made. Also 3. when they would go on and on I would let it take from my worth bank, thinking that they were just pretending to be thankful in order to fluff me up. So I would usually just brush off their gratitude and not receive it.
    This class has opened me up to the fact that giving and receiving go hand-in-hand, I never realized I was shortchanging myself so much by not excepting and receiving so many things.

  2. I continue a morning ritual of Gratitude by expressing gratitude for something many take for granted – Breath. Every morning the moment I become aware I am awake “Thank You” runs across the screen of my mind. At that same moment I express deep gratitude for waking and experiencing that first moment of awareness of breathing.

    Without wonder, I noticed last week that my gratitude for life, others, myself, and God had increased. I allow the gratitude to flow, have fun with it, and enjoy the feel better feeling expressing gratitude brings about in my life.

  3. One of the things that I have been made aware of is that the more you focus on something the more it will be drawn to you. So it would only make sense to me that focusing on and being more aware of the times that we are grateful and how often we feel genuinely grateful would bring more of that feeling into our lives also.
    To me being thankful and being grateful are pretty much the same thing. If I had to clarify a difference I would say that to me being grateful is taking being thankful just a step further and with a deeper appreciation for something.

    Lady Gratitude as I like to see her as is like the mom and dad and anyone who hears the first cry of a newborn. I feel joy and Lady Gratitude says I will show you more amazing things to come as you walk with me daily.
